Silt Fencing

We work with general contractors, grading companies, utility contractors, home builders, DOT, and public works in the Carolinas and Virginia to install effective silt fences as part of a perimeter control that can be combined with sediment basins, traps and other erosion controls designed to meet SWPPP compliance.

Silt fence is a temporary sediment control device used to protect the water quality of nearby streams, rivers, lakes and seas from runoff.  It is made from woven geotextile filter fabric, and it is typically placed around the perimeter of job sites before grading takes place. When it rains, water will often attempt to carry freshly-graded, loose dirt into our water supplies, but the semi-permeable silt fence barrier acts as a filter, keeping the sediment on-site while letting the clean water escape off-site.
